Version 33.0
- UPDATE: Version 33.0 brings back the old numeric system for labelling, since people with mod managers had issues with word names (like 'final'). This update affects the Skyrim children clothing, which has been reordered and adjusted to match the color naming convention of the Hearthfires DLC. In Hearthfires, all the children clothes are labelled by color, 'red dress', 'green dress', etc. I also adjusted the colors of one male and one female outfit to better match the name colors.
The two Heathfires styles do not match the color names, because frankly the originals were ugly combinations, so I changed them. Therefore 'yellow' and 'grey' don't match my colorways. A small inconsistency, but I felt it was necessary to depart from the vanilla palette in this case. Therefore there is no update for Hearthfires.
One other small change was I adjusted the normal maps of the 'magejourneyman' outfit, which covers the expert and master mage robes. I felt the folds were too sharp looking before, so I softened them a bit.

If you don't use that mod, then you'll just have a few extra hoods that won't be used, but I strongly suggest you do use her mod.

Version 25.0
- This update adds the Mythic Dawn robes, the Nocturnal gown, and the female Jester hat that was missing from the previous update. The Mythic Dawn robe textures are used by both males and females. The hood, gloves and shoes are included. Since Nocturnal is also know as 'Mother of Night' or 'Night Mistress', I decided to depict the starry night in her unique gown. Since her outfit is not something the player character can wear in the vanilla game, I felt that making it more distinctive was justified.

Version 24.0
- This update adds the Jester outfits, both male and female. The original textures were an eyesore, to be honest. They looked more like pig farmers, since they were covered in muck. Hardly the garb an entertainer would wear. They are now more fitting for a bringer of merriment. The coin buttons are a not so subtle reminder to their audience that these entertainers make their living off donations.

Version 21.0
- This update adds the Emperor and Empress outfits. Finally, the empress outfit matches the look of her male counterpart. It always bugged me that it was just a recolor of the 'yarl' outfit. The Yarl normal maps had to be slightly adjusted, since the emperor/empress outfits share the normal maps with the yarls.
-
Version 20.0
- This update adds the Sheogorath outfit and the Mystic Tuning Gloves. Why these two items, you may ask? Because it's my birthday, and the Madgod said to throw a party. - This update adds the Greybeards Robes (which only has a male folder), as well as the female version of Ulfric's outfit. Also included are the 'Gilded Wristguards' textures for both males and female, which are found in the Yarls folder. This is a unique item that can be only found on the Emperor's vessel. Morthal4 years agoI’m starting a new mage playthrough soon and really wanted something other than the same old boring College of Winterhold robes to wear around Skyrim. My journey into the depths of Nexus yielded a fine list of nice looking clothing options ranging from the practical to the frivolous. So I thought to myself, “Why not share?” Consider it a late Yuletide present for those of you who like to play a bit of dress-up with your Skyrim ladies.Let me get this out of the way: While some of these outfits may have a bit of cleavage, bare shoulders, tight pants, a bit of thigh, etc., you’re going to be disappointed if you’re looking for really sexy stuff. That’s not the way I play Skyrim. If you’re looking for “modest” coverage to 'a bit skimpy', though, I think you’ll be pretty happy with the time I’ve saved you wading through all the body replacer clothing and fetish gear. I ventured into the Models and Textures section on Nexus for a few of the retextures on this list and…..I’ve seen some shit. That which has been seen cannot be unseen. <shudders>You may be wondering why this list only includes clothing for vanilla and UNP body types. The answer is that I was looking for clothing for my own use, and I’m perfectly happy with the vanilla female body. People who use a body replacer can easily type in Caliente, CBBE, Dreamgirl, or whatever and get results. Sadly, there is no such option for people who just want a list of vanilla clothes, and that’s why I created this list.I’ve opted to include some of the less revealing UNP outfits, as well, as the body types are similar enough that a lot of the non-skimpy UNP stuff works just fine on vanilla bodies, and vice-versa. There’s always a possibility that a mod used on one and meant for the other will have some clipping or odd meshes on your particular character, particularly around the neck and chest area. But I’d rather give you more options to check out than dismiss the UNP stuff out of hand because there might be an issue. A good rule of thumb is that if there’s bare cleavage/shoulders showing, you may want to wear something like a scarf, cloak, cape, or mantle that obscures the neck seam area. I’ve included a few mods that add such things to the bottom of the list, and I hope to eventually compile a separate lore-friendly list of accessories and equipment.A few other notes: When multiple versions of the same design existed, I gave preference to standalone and/or craftable versions when available. Where standalone versions weren’t available I’ve indicated additional required files for replacer-only designs. I’ve also omitted global NPC clothing replacers that I didn’t think worked well for the NPCs in question. For example: A White Mini Dress might be cute on a certain type of character, but I don’t think every wench in Skyrim would be serving drinks in an all-white minidress. Your mileage may vary.Although I had originally intended to include variants of the Nocturnal dress here, there are just too damn many of them. Apparently modders have a thing for open-front dresses that defy several laws of physics. Who knew? Anyway, if you’re interested in the metric asston of Nocturnal dress retextures out there, a simple Nexus search should yield the desired results. For similar reasons, I’ve also decided to forgo listing the various retextures for the Greybeard, Thalmor, and Archmage robes. There are too many options to narrow down for this list.Interested in some nice looking light armor options? I have a list for that, too:

As always, make sure to endorse the mods you like and offer polite feedback where appropriate.Skyrim Modern House Mod
Let’s get on with it, shall we?37 commentsI just upgraded to a brand new computer, so I wanted to revamp my Skyrim game with the best mods my new rig can handle. Naturally, after vanilla-ing my game and installing some choice ENB mods, I wanted to overhaul my characters to look as realistic as possible. I’ve been using the same face texture mods for over a year and I decided to explore all the other mods out there – here is a comparison (from best to worst) of all the face texture mods I tried:TL:DR; The best female face texture mod IMHO is SG Female Face Textures Renewal!*All the following photos are taken in the same location/lighting using a modified version of the Poupouri Morning Star ENB (less saturated, more sub-surface scattering). All the face settings for the character are exactly the same in each photo.Vanilla Skyrim female face texture [rating: 1/10]As you can see, the vanilla Skyrim female face texture is a little (lot) haggard. There are some weird coloring issues, like the dark rings around the eyes and the white ring around the mouth. The lips are just one pale mess with no amount of dimension. All in all, not very cute.SG Female Face Textures Renewal [rating: 10/10]This is my personal favorite – I like that the eye area is a little brighter, giving my character a fresh and awake look. I also like the lip texture, which has just the right amount of gloss. My only complaint is that the skin is a little too flawless, but that can be easily “corrected” with some dirt/scar overlays.Real Girls Realistic Body Texture for UNP [rating: 9/10]This mod gets a close second place rating from me. It looks very fresh and clean. If you’re into the no makeup look, this is a great mod option. The only thing I don’t love is that the skin texture has some red undertones that look weird with my ENB (but it may not be a problem if you’re not using an ENB).Women of Skyrim [rating: 8/10]Best Clothing Texture Mod Skyrim
Here’s another texture mod that I think is great. The baseline eyeliner is a bit too dark for my taste, but I like the baseline lip color especially the matte quality that it has. The skin texture itself looks pretty realistic as well, with visible pores and fine lines.Skyrim se necromancer mod. Coverwomen [rating 5/10]There are 4 different version of the Coverwomen mod and I tried them all. I thought the eyes were a little too mascara-y and the lips were too pale. The mod made my characters all look like they were wearing glittery stripper makeup, except for version 4 of Coverwomen, which made my character look washed out and eye baggy.Mature Skin Texture and Body [rating 5/10]I used the “young” version of this skin texture on my character and it made her face look really saggy. I will say, the skin texture itself looks realistic, so if you’re making an older character, it could work really well for you. But, I don’t recommend using the “young” setting to make a “young” character.Better Females by Bella [rating 4/10]I tried both the standard v3 version of this mod and the no makeup version. As you can see, the standard version’s makeup is super intense. I don’t love it – she looks like a drag queen Barbie doll. The “no makeup” version is slightly better, but the lips are still weirdly shiny and there’s too much glitter going on for my taste.Univision Face [rating: 4/10]This texture is way too smooth and plasticky for me. The nose shadow in particular is very slight, so it gives my character a one-dimensional Voldemort-like look. This texture could be good if you’re looking to make a very CGI/anime looking character, but it’s not very realistic.Ok, hope you guys found that comparison helpful! I know everyone has their own taste, so try not to take offense at my opinions – if you have other thoughts, feel free to share in comments. Also, read my post on more realistic male face textures ;)
